The county is quite narrow up on the north shore and is flanked closely by Pictou County to the east and Cumberland County to the west.

Welcome to Tatamagouche and The Country Bread Basket Bakery & Coffee ShopTatamagouche boasts a lot of history, going back over 300 years and has grown into a vibrant regional center with an updated hospital, Scotiabank, library, Ford dealership and Farmers Market. The town serves quite a large area reaching from New Tatamagouche from the air near The Country Bread Basket Bakery & Coffee ShopGlasgow and Pictou through to River John and on up to Malagash, Wallace, and Pugwash. Customers come to the area frequently from as far away as Halifax, which is about a 2-hour drive.
